This years Carleton Place CBC took place on Dec 27th under reasonable
conditions. 28 observers took to the field combined with 25 feeder watchers.
While there were very few Redpolls and Grosbeaks, and there were also no
Bohemian Waxwings or Crossbills, the count still got 44 species total and over
5200 individuals. No records were set this year and no new species were seen
but the numbers of Turkeys and Ravens were close to the highest counts.

Highlights were:

371 Turkeys
3 Snowy Owls
1 Belted Kingfisher
32 Ravens
26 Robins
2 Song Sparrow
2 White-throated Sparrow
1 Brown-headed Cowbird

We also had 3 addition species during count week (Bald Eagle, Canada Goose and
18 Cedar waxwings)

thanks to all and happy new year
