Today while looking through a mixed flock of ~2000 blackbirds, I found two
Yellow-headed Blackbirds west of Long Point. One was obviously a male with
significant amounts of yellow on the head and breast with white wing patches,
while the other was a female/1st winter male with limited (but bright) yellow.
The flock(s) were mainly around the lower end of Gore Rd, between the Lakeshore
Rd and the western end of Concession A. Several accipters and even some young
Red-tailed Hawks kept harassing the flock as they fed in the corn field, on the
road, and roosted in nearby trees.

There were also about ~450 Sandhill Cranes in the fields along Lakeshore Rd,
west of HWY 59.

Directions: From the intersection of HWY 59 and Front Rd/Lakeshore Rd, head
west along Lakeshore Rd until you reach Gore Rd. Turn right and the blackbirds
were in the corn field on the left, up and down Gore Rd, and roosting in the
trees in and around the Concession A road.
