My son and I visited Cranberry Marsh late this afternoon. Among the 17
species of ducks we found was one beautiful male Harlequin Duck who flew in
from the west around 3:45 and landed with a group of Common Goldeneyes just
offshore in the lake. We first saw him directly off where the footpath
meets the lake and he continued swimming west, diving frequently.

Good birding!

Directions: From Victoria St in Whitby go south on Halls Rd to the second
short walkway going east to the Cranberry Marsh Lookout. Path to the lake
veers off to the right.
