Hi Sandra Eadie called at 3:17 pm to report the Brown Booby has returned to the Reef Lighthouse.
Just as a side note the Reef Lighthouse is actually US property and US waters continue 100 feet (30.5 metres) west side of the Lighthouse. However because the Canadian/US border approaches closer to the US side of the river north of this point, if you see the Booby flying from Donnellys Pier to the Lighthouse she might at some points be flying over Canadian waters. In addition when the Booby was sighted on the International Railway bridge this afternoon it was actually on very top of the metal bridge structure. I believe the border at this point is approximately half way across the river. Regards Marcie Jacklin Directions: Follow the QEW towards Buffalo,USA. Take the Central Ave Exit (last exit before the USA. Turn right on Central Ave, then right onto Lakeshore Rd. Park in the lot across from the Old Fort Erie historic site. To get to the International Railway Bridge from the Old Fort (Mather Park) drive 4.5 km north along Lakeshore Road/Niagara Parkway. There is a parking lot just north of the bridge. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
