Hi All

Well, I got a nice reward for working the entire holiday weekend (and not
eating turkey). When I pulled into the staff lot behind the Visitor
Centre this morning I notice a very large group of Turkey Vultures
streaming overhead. As they kettled up, I notice some other hawks in with
them. In addition to Sharp-shinned, Cooper's and Red-tailed, there was
one other individual that looked different. It broke off from the larger
group and flew west affording some nice looks at a juv. light morph
Swaison's Hawk - it was no Brown Booby, but I'll take what I can get.

The bird flew towards the west beach and then out of sight.

While on my duties yesterday, I had a Vesper Sparrow at the south end of
the West Beach parking lot. There are still lots of kinglets in the park
and good numbers of sparrows as well.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Sarah
