Observers:        Chris Craft, Dennis Patrick, Gwen Patrick, Jim McCoy,
                  John Craft, Larry Ludwicki, Rene Kielbasa

Visitors:
Bob & Annie from Pettasko, Ohio stopped in for a few hours before heading
up to bird Algonquin Park; and 4 regulars from Windsor stopped in just in
time to see the species start to fly a little lower.


Weather:
A nice fall day with temperatures between 10 & 20C; variable cloudiness;
winds out of the NE for the first few hours, then SE and finally SW in the
4-10 km/hr range.  

Raptor Observations:
A busy day with 1,031 raptors of 10 species. It was the first 500+ day for
Turkey Vultures for the fall with 520 birds at the end of the day. We
finally started to see some adult birds in the 314 Sharpies counted today.
86 Broad-winged Hawks were observed well out to the north, and high up in
the clouds. The Merlins put on another show with 4 birds all passing close
to the hawk tower.

Non-raptor Observations:
There was more birds and species of non-raptors today compared to the last
several days. Shorebirds included: Killdeer - 6; Pectoral Sandpiper - 4;
and Short-billed Dowitcher - 1. Other highlights include: Chimney Swift -
34; Ruby-throated Hummingbird - 10; Northern Flicker - 10; Blue Jay - 289;
the 1st Ruby-crowned Kinglets for the fall season; 10 species of Warbler;
and, 174 American Goldfinch. Double digits on Monarchs today at 14.

Predictions:
The weather forecast for Wednesday is the same as for today, except that
the winds are supposed to stay out of the NE the entire day.
