Weather:
Pleasant throughout, some early morning clouds quickly gave way to much
bluer skies in the afternoon. A touch of haze made spotting difficult on
occasion. The wind was northeast early but shifted southeast in a hurry and
remained that way for the rest of the day.

Raptor Observations:
We had a wonderful early morning flight of Broad-winged Hawks today. Early
in the 10 o'clock hour, a seemingly endless stream of them wound their way
past the stacks for a good twenty minutes. Throughout the rest of the day,
plenty of other streams of varying sizes were sighted high in the blue sky,
mostly right overhead or to our north. Not to be outdone, Turkey Vultures
made their first significant push of the season. Also of note was the
season's first Red-shouldered Hawk.

Non-raptor Observations:
Red-winged Blackbirds (250) were speeding by in the morning. American
Goldfinch, Cedar Waxwing and Northern Flicker were moving in limited
numbers. Chimney Swifts and Tree and Northern Rough-winged Swallows
continue to be seen with regularity.
