There was a single Black-bellied Plover this afternoon at West Perth Wetlands.
The fenced cell continues to provide good habitat for a large number of
shorebirds. There were good numbers of Killdeer, Lesser Yellowlegs,
Semipalmated Sandpiper, Least Sandpiper along with smaller numbers of
Semipalmated Plover, Pectoral Sandpiper, and Spotted Sandpiper.
A Merlin dropped in, picked up a peep and continued on its way. Within a
minute the shorebirds were feeding normally. Other notables were a few
Bobolink and Eastern Meadowlark.

West Perth Wetlands are in Mitchell, 20 km northwest of Stratford. From Hwy 8
(Ontario St) travel south on Wellington Street to Frank Street. Cross the
intersection and continue on the gravel road to the parking lot.
