The Dickcissel was being very co-operative today (15 June 2013) from 1230 hrs to at least 1300 hrs. It often sang from the top of the 2-4 m tall cedar trees and sometimes from the planted pines in the field to the west of the road.
It was, again, on the west side of Sideroad 21-22, 750 m south of Concession Road 10-11 (i.e., the hamlet of Monticello) in the west end of Dufferin County. The Luther Marsh Conservation Area is 1.5 km south of the Dickcissel location. It is a nice spot for a picnic and it has a great viewing tower. It was here that we were treated to an adult Bald Eagle around 1400 hrs. ********** Burke Korol Barrie, ON _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
