Hi there: >From May 10-12, a group of 25 birders from the Macnamara Field Naturalists' >Club surveyed both Prince Edward Point (May 10) and Presqu'ile (May 11/12).
On May 10, while birding near Point Traverse, many of us in the group experienced our first ever "fall-out" conditions which included mind-numbingly-wonderful views of warblers right at eye level. Overall, an excellent weekend with many memorable moments. Of the 127 species of birds seen, some highlights include (not in taxonomic order): Prince Edward Point (May 10): Blue-winged Warbler (1) Wilson's Warbler (1) Cape May Warbler Bay-breasted Warbler Tennessee Warbler Yellow-throated Vireo (1) Scarlet Tanager Presqu'ile (May 11/12): Golden-winged Warbler Blue-winged Warbler Bay-breasted Warbler Magnolia Warbler Indigo Bunting Bobolink Swainson's Thrush Eastern Whip-poor-will Solitary Sandpiper Happy birding Jon Ruddy Directions to Prince Edward Point, as per those given by Terry Sprague: To reach Prince Edward Point, follow County Road 10 from Milford, or County Road 13 from Black River Cheese, and follow for 17 km to the Prince Edward Point National Wildlife Area.
