Birders were at the warbler spot from 5:45 this morning and as of 7:15 the bird
was not relocated.

Lots of other birds including a cooperative Barred Owl, many warbles including
a gorgeous male Brewster's, Wood Thrush, Winter Wren, Raven, RB Grosbeak, GC
Flycatcher, Field Sparrow, Pileated, Ruffed Grouse and much more.

Directions: To get there, go north up Lakeridge from Whitby to Concession 9.
Turn left into Balsam,
about 1km, then turn north(right) up Sideroad 4. Go past the railway tracks,
past the house with the ponds until you some to the parking area on the left.
Park and walk up the main trail on the left of the parking
lot. Walk up the trail about a half a km. The bird was singing and moving
about high in the trees above the trail. If you reach the wooden bridge across
the creek you have gone too far.Eric Cole
