Migration Report - May 5, 2013

Birding continues slow but steady in the Park with a number of late
sightings for PURPLE FINCH, GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET, and numbers of
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW still being seen.

Tilden Wood continues to be the best bet for sought after species as
it hosts HOODED, BLUE-WINGED, GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLERS. Also noted there
was a YELLOW-THROATED VIREO, A RUSTY BLACKBIRD was also heard.

A CANADA WARBLER was seen just next to the Visitor Centre.

Along the West Beach trail close to the Tip a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was
located.

A WORM-EATING WARBLER and GOLDEN-WINGED WARLBER were reported at the
north end of the Woodland Nature Trail, and a RED-SHOULDERED HAWK was
also seen flying over.

All three SCOTER species were noted off the TIp this morning. As well
CASPIAN, COMMON and FORSTER'S TERNS were seen. On the beach at the Tip
was a LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL.
