Not much turn over in migration in the last couple days. Banded only 13 new birds of 7 species. Only new species for the year was a Blue-headed Vireo.
Also recaptured 13 birds: 9 kinglets & creepers banded in last week; 3 birds banded the same time last year and 1 foreign re-cap Song Sparrow. New species observed today at Hillman included: Caspian Tern; Northern Rough-winged Sparrow; and Black-and-white Warbler. Reliable birders reported they observed an American Bittern east of the new bird hide near the bench, however I could not relocate it a couple hours later. Hillman Marsh is located 7 kilometres east of Leamington on Oak Street.
