This afternoon after leaving The Islands Jay Pederson and I headed over to the Base Lands at The Spit and we too could not find the Blue Grosbeak but we did also the White-eyed Vireo and 5 Pine Warblers.
The Vireo was on the south side of the wet woods and the Pine Warblers part of a flock of 7 Yellow-rumped and the Pine Warblers on the east side of the paved road close to the beach. Directions per Paul Reeves Tommy Thompson Park is located at the foot of Leslie street. The Wet Woods (base of the park) where the Vireo and Grosbeak were observed are VERY wet so wear appropriate footwear.
