We have had our first sightings of Loggerhead Shrike over the last few days,
so this is just a reminder to PLEASE report any sightings of Eastern
Loggerhead Shrike to Wildlife Preservation Canada
([email protected] or 1-800-956-6608).

Many of the returning birds will likely be banded. Please take a moment to
look for bands on any shrike seen and report these with your sighting. Most
shrikes banded in the last couple of years have unique 4-colour combos.
Birds released with geolocators have only 2 bands, either RED/SILVER on the
LEFT (released in 2009) or SILVER on LEFT and RED on RIGHT (released in
2010) or SILVER/RED on the LEFT (released in 2011) - if recaptured, we are
still able to extract the data to determine migration routes and wintering
grounds, so we are especially eager to find any of these birds!

Your help with these efforts is greatly appreciates, thank you in advance.
