Hello Ontbirders,

A male Eurasian Wigeon in full breeding plumage was at Cranberry Marsh in
Whitby at 4:45 pm on Monday April 8. Jim Mcknight and I saw it from the
northern viewing platform off Halls Road. It was visible at close range
and was flocking with American Wigeon. Also present were good numbers of
other waterfowl, including Northern Pintail, Green-winged Teal, Northern
Shoveler, Wood Duck and many Ring-necked Ducks.

Directions:
>From Hwy 401, exit at Brock Street (Whitby), and go south about 0.6 km to
Victoria St., turn right and go 4.3 km to Halls Rd., turn left and go 1.5
km south to the roadside parking (on the left) for the trail to the north
viewing platform.

Good luck,
Steve LaForest, Oshawa
