In a failed attempt to relocated the Richmond Northern Hawk Owl, a Great Grey owl was discovered. It was in originally in the wood lot at the end of Richland Driver (just past the gate on the left). It flew west towards the tree line by the open field where I was then able to photograph the individual.
Great Grey Owls are not exactly a rare sighting in Ottawa this year, but if you are south of Ottawa you can save yourself the drive to the Constance Bay (march valley road) and NCC (Rockcliffe Parkway) Owls.
