Early spring migrants are beginning to appear in the Ottawa/Gatineau area. 
On the 25th AMERICAN ROBIN (6) were seen in Barrhaven, a TURKEY VULTURE (1) was 
seen over downtown Ottawa and a KILLDEER was heard over the Experimental Farm. 
On the 27th RING-NECKED DUCKS were seen at the Ottawa River Deschenes and Remic 
Rapids and a GADWALL (1 male) was seen at the Deschenes Rapids. Probable 
migrant HORNED LARK (4) were seen north of Sarsville and on Rushmore Rd (6).
  
BOREAL CHICKADEE (3 seen and heard on the 24th and 1 all week) continue at a 
feeder in Val-des-Monts north of Perkins, QC since the 13th and (4) near Mayo, 
QC on the 22nd
 
GOLDEN EAGLE (1 juv), rare in eastern Ontario in the winter, was seen over the 
P6 parking area of the Stoney Swamp Conservation Area on Richmond Rd on the 
21st.
 
BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS (36+) over the Old Quarry Trail on the 24th.
 
A NORTHERN GOSHAWK was seen from Porcupine Trail near Dunrobin on the 26th. 

Interesting sighting were;
- RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD (1 adult male and 1 first winter male) which may be 
birds moving north from the St Lawrence River area on the 23rd
- CANADA GEESE (2) were seen in a field near the Rideau River south of Ottawa 
on the 24th
- BALD EAGLE continue to be seen throughout the Ottawa/Gatineau area
- NORTHERN SHRIKE (1) seen on Russell Rd on the 23rd and (3) on March Valley Rd 
on the 24th
- CAROLINA WREN (2 were seen on the 25th) continue in Britannia Village and 
along the fence on the west side of the Britannia Conservation Area and (1) at 
an Alta Vista back yard feeder on the 21st 
- BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER (1) near the Jack Pine feeder on the 26th 
- BARROW'S GOLDENEYE (1 male) continues just south of the Hurdman bridge
- GREEN-WINGED TEAL (1 male) continues on the creek south of Klondike Rd on 
March Valley Rd
- WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL continue to be seen at the feeders at the west side of 
Larose Forest on the 21st
- HOODED MERGANSER (1 male) continues down stream of the bridge in Manotick on 
the 24th
