At 2:00 today a male Harlequin Duck was found by a group of 3 in Collingwood Harbour. It was best viewed from the Collingwood grain elevator at the end of Heritage Drive, also viewed at this local were two White-winged Scoters including an adult male, two Horned Grebes, a male Northern Pintail (at the end of Birch St) and other usual winter ducks. Two groups of Bohemian Waxwings were also found in the area, a flock of 200 near Rona on Sixth St between High St & Tenth Line, and the other a flock of 50 in Nottawa in a backyard seen from highway 124. Also seen in the area, a Red-tailed Hawk & a Rough-legged Hawk seen hovering near Fairgrounds Rd N & Beachwood Rd Heritage Drive can be accessed from the north side of Huron St (also known as 1st St & Hwy 26). Drive to the parking lot at the end of Heritage, this is the best viewing for ducks.
