At 11am, I found an adult Thayer's Gull in the extreme interior bay at the AE Crooks Park section of Lakeside Promenade park in Mississauga.
The gull was alternating between standing and sitting on the ice and was among a large number of Herring & Ring-billed gulls. There was also an Iceland gull present (which provided a decent contrast to the Thayer's). Other birds seen included a partially leucistic Mallard, Northern pintail, as well as the typical winter ducks, geese and swans one would expect to see this time of year along the lake. Lakeside Promenade Park and Marina is located on Lake Ontario, south of Lakeshore Road and just east of the intersection of Cawthra and Lakeshore in Mississauga.
