A great blue heron and two American coots were surprise sightings at Wellington Harbour in Prince Edward County this afternoon. An added bonus: 10 tundra swans.
To view the birds, drive east along Loyalist Parkway/Highway 33 from central Wellington and turn right by the LCBO. Straight ahead, you’ll see the dock, which is an excellent viewing platform for wintering waterfowl. The heron was foraging along the shore west of the dock, the coots and tundra swans to the east. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
