At around noon on November 17, an adult female Barrow's Goldeneye was seen at the Wiarton Sewage Lagoons. Phone-scoped photos were taken of the bird. It remained in the middle cell, associating with a 1st winter Common Goldeneye and a few Buffleheads. Its overall smaller size, its more sloped forehead, and its nearly completely pale/yellow bill were seen well. There were about 20 or so other Common Goldeneyes around there for a good comparison. It was still there when we left at about 1:00. Checklist will be submitted to eBird tomorrow, along with photos. Directions: Going north into Wiarton turn right onto Elm St. After a few hundred feet, just past the cemetery, turn right up the path to the sewage lagoons. Again, the bird was seen in the middle cell.
