Temperatures ranged from 14.5C - 17.4C, with the warmest hour being the first one of the morning. Very light winds out of the south/south-west. Raptor Observations: A very slow day with 19 birds of 5 species. That does not include the flock of Turkey Vultures that I counted, and uncounted, 4 times before they finally sat down on this almost windless day Non-raptor Observations: Very little non-raptor migration either. No Crows; only 30 Blue Jays; 208 American Robins; and 2,025 Red-winged Blackbirds. Low volume migrants included: Tundra Swan - 7; Killdeer - 2; Northern Flicker - 4; Pine Sisken - 2; and 1 Song Sparrow. Predictions: Cloudy with a 40% chance of rain in the morning and cloudy with sunny periods in the afternoon. Another warm fall day with temperatures forecasted between 15C and 22C. Another day light winds out of the south at 10 km/hr. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Todd Pepper ([email protected]) Holiday Beach Migration Observatory information may be found at: http://hbmo.org/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
