Weather: Full cloud cover all day; winds out of the west all day generally in the 12 - 19 km/hr range; temperature was fairly consistent all day with a range from 11.3C - 13.2. Raptor Observations: A better day than expected with 1,485 birds. Low diversity at only 7 species. There was a steady stream of TV's all day and they represented 82% of the total birds for the day. Non-raptor Observations: A reasonable migration day for passerines, but also low diversity. There was a very good movement of Chimney Swifts today at 53 birds, with 39 of them between the hour of 11 a.m. and Noon EST. Other highlights include: Blue Jay - 1690 American Crow - 1020 Tree Swallow - 71 - many more were feeding over the marsh and flying way out to the north Yellow-rumped Warbler - 56 Red-winged Blackbird - 712 American Goldfinch - 91 Predictions: A partly cloudy day with winds out of the West at 5 km/hr in the morning and switching to the South at 10 km/hr in the afternoon.
