Weather: It was sunny and clear once again, though a tad cooler than it's been lately due to the gusty wind. Raptor Observations: South winds were unkind for a second straight day. Non-raptor Observations: More than 150 Blue Jays made their way through the viewing area this morning, the first solid push of what will be many more to come. Chimney Swifts (200+) were also noticeable throughout the day. Predictions: Showers are likely in the morning (80 percent chance). The afternoon looks clear, however, so we should be able to get some counting in eventually. The wind will be strong and out of the north with gusts as high as 25 mph. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Jonathan Stein ([email protected]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.drhawkwatch.org Site Description: The primary site used by the Detroit River Hawk Watch (a joint venture of the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge and it's Friends group, the International Wildlife Refuge Alliance) is the Boat Launch at Lake Erie Metropark located approximately 20 miles south of Detroit, Michigan.
