Jim Maki, Rodney Laura, Pete Przylbylski, Paul Cypher, Martin Berthiaume, Dennis Hudgins, Jerry Erb, Francesca Erb and Jean Siesener all stopped by. Thanks everyone for your help spotting. Weather: The early morning fog burned off faster than yesterday, leaving us with partly cloudy skies during much of the morning. The sky grew progressively clearer and the sun stronger as we moved into the afternoon hours. The wind was out of the east and consistently 5-10 mph after the fog cleared. Raptor Observations: A highly enjoyable afternoon flight today. With east winds we weren't expecting much movement, but once the sky began to clear there was fairly steady afternoon activity. Groups of Turkey Vultures and Broad-winged Hawks continued to move through and it was also a good day for Osprey, Bald Eagles and Northern Harriers. Non-raptor Observations: There wasn't much going on non-raptor-wise. Predictions: Partly cloudy with light south winds, there is a slight chance of rain in the afternoon. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Jonathan Stein ([email protected]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.drhawkwatch.org Site Description: The primary site used by the Detroit River Hawk Watch (a joint venture of the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge and it's Friends group, the International Wildlife Refuge Alliance) is the Boat Launch at Lake Erie Metropark located approximately 20 miles south of Detroit, Michigan.
