As a follow-up to the previous release, there are two "hidden gems" for free
parking in the Falls area. The first is one that birders know quite well:
Dufferin Islands. You can park at N 43 4.111 W 79 4.397 and it is a 15 min walk
to the brink of the Falls, with the benefit of great birding locations all the
way there. The 2nd spot is a local specialty. When on Clifton Hill, turn down
the side street beside the Believe It Or Not museum (N 43 5.409 W 79 4.612) and
there is a huge lot that always has plenty of room. The trick is to tell the
gate attendant that you are parking for lunch/dinner or attending a birthday
party at Boston Pizza. Trust me as a Falls resident - this works, and most of
the city uses this excuse every time anyone needs free parking on Clifton Hill.
Gate attendant will give you a blank parking slip for your windshield and you
are good to go.
