Hello Birders, Yesterday while visiting a friend in East Windsor, it was mentioned that Ring-Necked Pheasants that are easily seen in a nearby park (East Riverside Park). And sure enough while leaving, I took a short walk and found them quite easily.
I realize these are non-native birds and probably introduced, but it may be of interest to Windsor-area birders who have not seen this species yet. I took a few photos and posted to my Flickr account if interested: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dwaynejava/ Other noteworthy birds seen yesterday include a Great Crested Flycatcher at Brunette Park (near gazebo/pavilion) in LaSalle and many Orchard Orioles in the grassy Spring Garden area of the Ojibway Park Complex. Stay cool and good birding! Dwayne Murphy Directions: The Pheasants can be seen 300m east of McNorton Dr and Banwell. If you park near Radcliffe and Cobblestone road, walk along the Blue Heron Lake to see Pheasants. Some were even seen in front of "Heron Terrace", which is just 200m East of McNorton Dr and Banwell in East Windsor. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
