Reports received June 21 through June 28 from the Niagara Frontier Region.

June 27, an early, southbound, GREATER YELLOWLEGS at Fort Erie, Ontario.
There
are only a few June records of GREATER YELLOWLEGS in the region. Other
shorebirds between Fort Erie and Rock Point Provincial Park - BLACK-BELLIED
PLOVER, KILLDEER, LESSER YELLOWLEGS, SPOTTED SANDPIPER and LEAST SANDPIPER.

>From the Tillman Wildlife Management Area in Clarence, on the Meadow Trail,
a
first year ORCHARD ORIOLE, plus RED-BELLIED WDPKR., PILEATED WOODPECKER and
EASTERN BLUEBIRD. In the marshes at Tillman, three reported LEAST BITTERNS,
plus one unfortunate LEAST BITTERN specimen on the road.

In the Southern Tier, a Breeding Bird Survey in the area of Phillips Creek
State Forest reported SHARP-SH. HAWK, RED-SHOULDERED HAWK, AMERICAN
KESTREL,
COMMON RAVEN, GOLDEN-CR. KINGLET, 11 warbler species and WHITE-THR.
SPARROW,
plus numerous BOBOLINKS and EASTERN MEADOWLARKS in the uncut hayfields.

Also in the Southern Tier, in Cattaraugus County, a note that the young of
cavity nesting species had fledged - YELLOW-B. SAPSUCKER, TREE SWALLOW,
BLACK-
CAP. CHICKADEE and EASTERN BLUEBIRD.

Forty-four species this week in the Carlton Hill Mutiple Use Area of
Wyoming
County. Warblers included NORTHERN PARULA, YELLOW WARBLER, CHESTNUT-S.
WARBLER,
AMERICAN REDSTART, OVENBIRD, MOURNING WARBLER, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT and
HOODED
WARBLER, plus YELLOW-B. SAPSUCKER, VEERY, WOOD THRUSH, SCARLET TANAGER and
INDIGO BUNTING.

At Genesee County Park in the Town of Bethany, 2 MOURNING WARBLERS, 2
HOODED
WARBLERS and an INDIGO BUNTING at picnic pavillion G, and at Smith and
Marsh
Roads in Bethany, 15 BOBOLINKS.

And GREAT EGRETS range across the region - two over Eggerstville in Amherst
this week.
