The Fish Crow is here now perched in a tree across from the Compass restaurant calling frequently! ------Original Message------ From: Gavin Edmondstone Sender: [email protected] To: Ontbirds Subject: [Ontbirds] Fish Crow at Bronte Harbour Sent: Apr 1, 2012 4:51 PM
Sue and I saw and heard a Fish Crow at Bronte Harbour for about 20 minutes beginning at 3:40 this afternoon. We observed the bird eat what appeared to be a small egg. During this time the bird’s movements were near the area where the Red-necked Grebes nest. At 4 PM the bird flew inland and disappeared behind an apartment building. Subsequent searching did not relocate the bird, sorry Cheryl. As the crow flies Bronte Harbour is not far from where Dave Don reported a Fish Crow in southeast Burlington yesterday. As we headed out for our walk we were saying that we should keep Fish Crow in mind...another example of the power of positive thinking. Directions: Exit the QEW at Bronte Rd. (Oakville) and go to the lake. Oakville transit routes 2 and 14 serve the area from the Bronte and Oakville GO stations respectively.
