I was out in the yard doing spring cleanup and heard an Eastern Phoebe calling several times throughout the day. Later in the afternoon, a Northern Harrier cruised through the backyard, sending the Redwinged Blackbirds and Grackles into a tizzy, while a pair of Turkey Vultures soared over Sturgeon Lake.
Location: Victoria Drive, Southview Estates, Cameron. North on Hwy 35 from Lindsay to Cameron. East on Longbeach Road to Anderson Drive. South on Anderson Drive to Victoria Drive. If you care to explore, there are Ring necked Pheasants in the wooded area at the south end of Victoria Drive, where it loops down towards the lake and around to Beehive Drive. You may even see them under the bird feeders at a couple of houses close to the end of both streets.
