Evening All,
Late Sunday afternoon, Jean and I waited for dusk and the aerial displays of
the reported Short-eared Owl on 10th Rd East in Stoney Creek.
We waited with approximately 10 additional birders spread along 10th Rd and
around 5:20 PM the first Short-eared appeared east of 10th. It was flying
northwards. Soon after, owls appeared west of 10th. In total, Jean and I
counted 7 Short-eared Owls. At times, they roosted in trees and on the utility
poles along the railway tracks.
There was also 2 Northern Harriers in the mix.
A great way to end the day!
