I have had a couple of emails requesting more information on donations to Red Knot Research in memory of Don Shanahan and thought it would be worth clarifying the process. All donations can be sent to ROM Governors Royal Ontario Museum 100 Queens Park Toronto ON M5S 2C6
On the memo line write Don Shanahan. Cheques should be made out to the Royal Ontario Museum. The ROM will send out tax receipts. All donations will be for the purchase of optical equipment to be used by students and volunteers throughout the Red Knot rufa flyway to help protect this endangered species. Don frequently shared valuable shorebird information from Presqu'ile and was a valued member of two shorebird research teams in James Bay.
