Hello Onbirders:
 
The American Coot that was first seen on the Ottawa-Gatineau Christmas Bird 
Count on December 18 was still present late yesteday afternoon on the Rideau 
River at Billings Bridge. It is in the ever diminishing open water to the north 
of the bridge off Bank Street associating with the large flock of Mallards and 
several Black Ducks and Common Goldeneye.

Directions: From Highway 417 (The Queensway) take exit 117 (Riverside Drive). 
Proceed south to Bank Street and then turn right over Billings Bridge.
