Hello birders! The Great Grey Owl made an appearance today on Road 2 West, about a kilometre west of McCain Sideroad. He was about 10 feet from the road, and garnered much interest! There was even a reporter from CTV Windsor doing a shoot and interviewing birders. She told me that it would appear on the 6 o'clock news, local in Windsor, tonight December 29th. (Might be 6:30). I can't find it on their website as yet. Also in the area were several Red-tailed Hawks and some Cooper's Hawks. While I know that there have been issues with distance from the owl, Phishing it when it's only 10 feet from you seems pointless. Good birding! _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
