While I can appreciate the concern that some have felt for this owl ( I was uncomfortable with my own distance the first day I saw the owl), one advantage of this level of interest is that it causes passing cars to slow down near the bird. My personal fear for this bird is that it will be hit by a car. I have to agree with the opinion of most posters that the owl is experiencing no stress at all from the observers; at one point this afternoon it flew to a position so perfect for the group of photographers that one could be led to believe that it was posing for them! _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
