A non-breeding CURLEW SANDPIPER, right at dusk, feeding in the mud. ID based on 
bill and leg length (long) and colour (black), plus my photographic record. 
I've struggled with this one and I don't think it's a Dunlin.

Go south from the 401 on Brock St. S. in Whitby. Before getting to the harbour 
proper , there is a low bridge and to the west side is a shallow area where 
various birds are known to rest and feed.

Also, the SNOWY OWL has moved from the southwest breakwall by the yacht club 
out to the breakwall that juts into the lake. It seems to like sitting atop the 
lit harbour marker (not quite a lighthouse.) Public access is across the 
harbour inlet from the perch, viewing from about 50 to 75 yds.

Access the south pier from the parking lot at the bottom of Brock Street.

I'm new here so I'll have to learn the proper way to post this stuff...
