Clive Goodwin found a Purple Sandpiper at the south end of the west headland
at Cobourg harbour yesterday and it is still there today, Sunday December
11.
There is a westerly gale blowing and huge waves are dashing over the
headland, so conditions are not ideal!
The Purple was feeding on a small gravel spit just on the eastern edge of
the south end of the headland, managing to shelter on the far side of the
gravel so that often only its head was visible.
Clive also found a Dunlin nearby yesterday, but I could not find it today.

Directions: Take Exit 474 from Hwy.401 and go south on Division Street to
the harbour. Drive west around the harbour to the large parking lot on the
west side and walk out on the grassy headland.
