Greetings to all,

I was making this for a family member and it occurred to me
that others may benefit from it. For anyone who has yet to birdwatch along the
river and may feel apprehensive about making the trip and not finding all the
key locations that
have been mentioned recently, here they are in coordinate form. Let your
GPS guide you from the terminus of the river in Niagara-on-the-Lake upstream
toward Buffalo.
Stopping anywhere along the river will lead to exciting sightings, but all of
these locations are the convenient, free pull-offs where you can park-and-bird
almost
standing next to your vehicle (except for the brink of the Falls):

N 43 15.482 W 79 4.185 – Queen’s Royal Park

N 43 9.911 W 79 3.198 – Queenston Boat Launch (follow
entrance down to N 43 9.940 W 79 3.147)

N 43 9.692 W 79 3.010 – Queenston Overlook

N 43 8.622 W 79 2.683 – Sir Adam Beck

N 43 4.107 W 79 4.399 – Dufferin Islands
(turn off Niagara River Parkway at N 43 4.163 W 79 3.974). Note that this is
the only free parking in the area,
so it is totally worth it to park here and walk back to N 43 4.595 W 79 4.730
to observe the roosting island at the brink of the Horseshoe Falls.

N 43 4.182 W 79 3.739 – Control Gates Overlook

N 43 3.710 W 79 2.659 – Welland River
Intake

N 43 3.203 W 79 1.451 – Navy Island
Passage

N 42 57.835 W 78 58.711 / N 42 57.157 W 78 58.353 – Service Road 6
River Bend

N 42 56.726 W 78 55.829 – Strawberry Island
