This afternoon at 2:45 I saw a Northern Shrike in the Don Valley ravine in Leaside. It is the first I have every seen in this area. The bird was sitting hide in a weedy field just to the east of the North Toronto Water Treatment plant.
Directions: The treatment plant is located off Millwood Rd at Redway Rd. Take the road behind Loblaws to access the ravine and continue east of the plant to the weedy field. I hope the dog walkers don't spook it before the winter list begins.
