Hello everyone,

For those thinking about checking out the Niagara River this weekend I just
wanted to let you know what we saw today between 10 AM and 4:30 PM todady.

At 10:30AM we saw the Razorbill off of the American fort it was sitting on the
water and gave excellent views. Here we also saw Surf and White-winged Scoters,
12+ Horned Grebes, 2 Rednecked Grebes, 2 Red-throated Loons, and 1 Common Loon.
At Adam Beck overlook we saw 2 Thayers Gulls (First Year and Adult), 1
Iceland (Kumliens) Gull, and 1 2nd year Lesser Black-backed Gull in the early
afternoon. While there, Dave Worthington spotted the Black Vultures soaring
down river beyond the Queenston Lewingston bridge. We saw them at a distance
and drove closer for better looks. While getting closer looks at the
Black-headed Vultures another birder spotted a Little Gull by the Queenstown
boat launch, unfortunately we didn't see it so drove to there to see if we
could refind it.
At the Queenstown boatlaunch we dipped on the Little Gull but had great looks
at 4 Black Vultures soaring with Turkey Vultures and Gulls, this was about 3
PM. We then decided to go back to the Sir Adam Beck  overlook. While watching
the large number of Bonapartes and other Gulls doing the flypast towards
Lake Ontario we spotted an Iceland Gull, a 1st year Franklin's Gull and an
Adult Califiornia Gull all between 3:30 and 4:15 PM.
Good Luck
