It was damp. It was foggy. The wind was light and out of the west. Raptor Observations: One very memorable look at one very memorable bird. A juvenile northern goshawk decided to cross at eye level no more than twenty feet from us during the 11 o'clock hour. As might be expected on Thanksgiving, the bird had a very full crop. Non-raptor Observations: Four common goldeneye flew by early in the morning. Two more black-crowned night herons were seen. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Jonathan Stein ([email protected]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.drhawkwatch.org Site Description: The primary site used by the Detroit River Hawk Watch (a joint venture of the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge and it's Friends group, the International Wildlife Refuge Alliance) is the Boat Launch at Lake Erie Metropark located approximately 20 miles south of Detroit, Michigan.
