An immature red-headed woodpecker has been seen in the Uphill area. It has
been quite active around the neighbourhood for the last three days. The
plumage on the body appears to be like that of an adult with a clear chest,
black back and the vibrant white wing and rump patches. This bird lacks the
distinctive red head having a brownish head instead.

While it could be seen anywhere for about half a mile along Victoria Road south
of Monck Road, there is one house where it is most frequently found. I don't
want to overwhelm the owners of this house so if you would like to try to see
the bird, contact me and I will try to set something up with them.
