Weather:
A wild weather day. Today had drizzle, rain, heavy overcast, white puffy
clouds, and at least three rainbows.
Raptor Observations:
A few birds moving today in the drizzle, but the heavy rain briefly slowed
the action. With the clearing skies, the birds really responded and there
was a very nice late afternoon flight of raptors. The early highlight was
an immature Northern Goshawk that blasted by just below the level of the
top of the tower. Later on, highlights included four Golden Eagles, three
Rough-legged Hawks, and an immature Swainson's Hawk. The Swainson's Hawk
migrated past very low with a large group of Turkey Vultures.
Non-raptor Observations:
Two Sandhill Cranes flew over the tower twice in the late afternoon.
