Total observation time: 3 hours

Weather:
A very wet morning with winds non-existant, or out of the WSW lead to very
few migrating birds today. Temps in the morning ranged from 15.3C to 12.9C
during the 3 hours of observation. The cloud cover never broke and the
drizzle became a steady light rain. Since the weather report at 6am
predicted no change in the conditions until the 4 o'clock hour, I called it
a day after the first 3 hours with only 2 hawks seen. (of course by the
time I made it back to my home in Pinckney MI the sun was out here)

Raptor Observations:
NO raptors for the first 2 hours. In the first half of the 10 o'clock hour
on large Coopers Hawk flew down the shoreline, and an American Kestrel was
also seen.

Non-raptor Observations:
6 Pied-billed Grebes noted in the marsh very close to the road. My only
entertainment for the 3 hours of observation were the few song birds in the
scrub around the tower. The following were noted between 8am and 11am: 1
Downy Woodpecker (f); 2 Warbling Vireo; 4 Golden-crowned Kinglets, 2
Ruby-crowned Kinglets; 6 Juv Dark-eyed Junco; 1 Northern Cardinal; 4 Juv
White-crowned Sparrows; 6 Juv White-throated Sparrows, 2 Song Sparrows, 2
House Sparrows; 1 (f) Palm Warbler; 3 Common Yellowthroats; 1 Yellow-rumped
Warbler. 14 American Gold finch did fly over in the light drizzle as well.

Predictions:
Weather conditions will be much better, but winds are still predicted from
the WSW according to recent weather report. Should be mostly sunny, with
high temp of about 60 F.
