Weather: The clouds were low and thick and occasionally sprinkled us with drizzle. West winds were strong throughout. Raptor Observations: Slow, slow, slow going. Non-raptor Observations: A small flock of greater yellowlegs flew by in the morning heading west. Tree swallows were abundant and joined by five late chimney swifts. Predictions: Partly cloudy with strong west winds. A slight chance of precipitation. Less cloud cover should lead to more birds up and about. Time to put an end to this lengthy dry spell. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Jonathan Stein ([email protected]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.drhawkwatch.org Site Description: The primary site used by the Detroit River Hawk Watch (a joint venture of the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge and it's Friends group, the International Wildlife Refuge Alliance) is the Boat Launch at Lake Erie Metropark located approximately 20 miles south of Detroit, Michigan.
