I saw the female Common Eider  at Chubb Point this morning at 10:40am.
It could not be seen from the viewing area at the foot of Station Street south
of Grafton. Nor could it be seen from the next area just to the east at the
place where the road curves north. However, if you descend at this more
easterly spot to the beach and walk a bit west, the bird could be seen easily.
It is in the medium distance and not out where all the loons are. Richard Pope
