The Common Eider was being seen at or near Chub Point south of Grafton until
after 5pm on Sunday, October 2.
Just before dusk it was with a few Greater Scaup fairly close to shore about
150 metres east of and visible from the psrking area, or by walking east
along the beach. Earlier in the day as Fred Helleiner posted it was a bit
farther east than this, visible from the bend in the road as it turns north
after turning east at the parking area.

Directions: Leave Hwy. 401 at Exit 487 and go south to Hwy. 2, the main
street through Grafton. Here turn right (west) for a short distance and then
first left to go down Station Road to the lake. There is a small parking
area right at the foot of Station Road as it turns eastward, and the bird
was seen from this parking area and as above.
