For two days a jaeger has been on the sand dunes on the edge of the Ottawa
River beside the Pembroke Marina. It seems to be a juvenile parasitic. It does
have a dark head and a light colored upper tail, which some sources say
preclude parasitic. So I am unsure.
It generally sits on the sand, occasionally flying raids in the vicinity,
but always returning to sit on the sandbars that form where the Muskrat River
joins the Ottawa.
Take Highway 41 to Pembroke Street. Proceed two blocks west and two blocks
north. Have fun. Mark
