Posting on behalf of Bruce Murphy

Greetings birders I thought I would let people know that this may be a good boreal autumn and winter. Last night at the hilliardton marsh owl banders banded an adult boreal owl. The Hilliardton marsh is located 20 minutes north of Newliskeard and is very close to the Quebec border. Foe more specific directions feel free to contact me. 20 boreals have been banded in homer Alaska and 3 have been reported in Tadoussac Quebec. Last year we specifically targeted capturing and banding boreal owls but caught zero so we are happy to report this significant encounter to birders in the province this year. For more information please feel free to contact me or visit our website www.themarsh.ca <http://www.themarsh.ca/>to find more about our research and directions to the marsh.

Happy birding
